How to get Heavy Rain Working When All Else Fails

I have been trying to get Heavy Rain working for two weeks. I've tried 4 different versions and gave a black screen when loading from backup manager. I finally got it to work doing this.

My Heavy Rain is FTP'd to internal HDD and update folder is removed.

Overwrite the eboot.bin with one that works, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP, I used God of War III - found in hdd0/game/LAUNCH12345/GAMEZ/HeavyRainFolder/PS3_GAME/USRDIR

Exit your FTP app and run backup manager
Launch Heavy Rain
Now it takes you to the XMB where it wouldn't before for me but returns again if you click game so...
Run FTP app again and now switch the eboot for the correct Heavy Rain one
Exit the FTP app and run the game from the launch icon on XMB

Worked for me, hope this helps some people. I've tried all the other tutorials.

Seems like the other eboot lets it go to XMB but obviously can't launch the game but still keeps icon after you exit FTP app so hopefully this is a solution for some.

nope he wont get banned unless he post the direct link .

anyway start to run this games from Original BM and see if they are gunna give you black screen if yes then the games are corrupted

Sorry didn't realise, just trying to help. I was using original backup manager but coudn't get game to work. Swapping eboots got it to work for me. Hopefully might work on other games.

Just to clarify I am not using Hermes payload. I only have the original backup manager 1 from PSjailbreak site on my PS3, I need the disk to play games. I could never get HR to work with it until I did this.
