How do I make an Update PKG file?

I managed to get the Disgaea 3 v2.00 US patch files from a user named ntrekie here on the forums and I'm not sure how to make it into an update PKG file.

I managed to get the Disgaea 3 v2.00 US patch files from a user named ntrekie here on the forums and I'm not sure how to make it into an update PKG file.

You won't be able to decrypt the eboot.bin that comes with it unless you have the debug eboot so what you will need to do is the following:
Get the update pkg for 2.30
Get the debug eboot for 2.30
unself the debug eboot for 2.30
do the necessary hex edits
make_self_npdrm on that debug eboot
unpack the update pkg
remove the eboot from it
replace it with the one you hexed and signed
create pkg
sign it
then it should all be fine.
In case you don't want to go through all that you can just use Riku's eboot pkg for Disgaea 3 with latest update instead.

I'm not trying to turn it into a HDD game. It's an update package for Disgaea 3.

v2.00 was a big update but it also left a bug where dropouts would appear on every floor of the class world. That bug was patched as of v2.30.

When someone releases the NPDRM key I'll turn it into a HDD game. Till then, since I own the game I'm good using an earlier patch.

Um if you check the site it gives links to all available retail updates, just put in the game id
PS - why would you want to use an earlier update if it has bugs?

Disgaea3 - BLUS30181

It only has v2.30, mainly because the patch is a full patch. Most games do an incremental patch where as the Disgaea 3 team knew people would stop at v2.0 so they removed those patches for one big one that jumps directly over v2.00.

v2.00 -

A Diez Gentlemen for each New Cycle you complete if Mao's Level is higher than them.
Drop out appears on every floor of the Class World
Drop out now have a "check", except on floors with the Mystery Gate or Class "Boss" since they will be checked instead.
New Save Icon room in the Item World, of future Download Content Characters
New Songs to purchase
Can change the Music for Class World
Movement Speed Increased more, especially for "flying" type enemies.
Punish/Forgive Option in Homeroom, allows for more room
Can pass a bill for the Character Painter in Homeroom, so he'll be in the Academy.

v2.10 - Removed the Dropout every floor of class world bug, and nerfed the puppy paw item.
v2.20 - Misc bug fixes
v2.30 - Added trophy support

What you do is use the v2.00, do all the stat boosting and duplications you want then update to v2.30 for DLC compatibility. It's like keeping a v1.0 of a game for a glitch. It's called a 'good bad bug'

I made GameData PKG from it, installed... And it gives a error at startup. SONY blacklisted Disgaea 3 US 2.00 update in 3.55 firmware. You won't be able to launch it, until you resign it with a different key. To do so you need:

a) Debug 2.00 update;
b) Wait for a working way to decrypt NPDRM EBOOTs.

but if 2.00 has that glitch that you don't want, why you want to download it?
