Can someone please tell me how to do this? Do I need to deal with splitting files over 4Gb? If so how? Do I need to use a special program to format the HD to Fat32 or will a regular windows format do?

I did a search on this forum but I cannot find similar threads. Sorry if this was already posted.

Format the drive w/ fat32format (google it). When you backup a game with large files to the external HDD, it will split the files automatically. If you wish to split the files yourself on your computer, you can use split4g or open split to do so, then just transfer the files to your external HDD. Create a folder on your external HDD called GAMEZ. This is where all your game folders go for backup. If you need to see the directory structure, load up a backup manager and backup a game to your external drive (/dev_usb0) and it will create the folder structure for you.
