Help installing backup manager

I am new the PS3 jailbreak scene and just installed the 3.55 jb yesterday. I tried to install the backup manager pkg but when attempting to install I receive and error stating "An error occurred during the install operation. (80029567)" I have been able to install other pkg such as FTP server. From my reading it looks like Backup Manager may only work with firmware version 3.15 to 3.41, is this true? If so is there a new version that supports 3.55 or do I need to downgrade. I saw a new firmware downgrade tool for 3.55 but warns that there have been numerous reports of bricks, blu-ray playback loss, and loss of data especially for the slim models which I have. Anyone have any advise on what to do to be able to get a backup manager installed so I can backup my games?

seems like it has to run on 3.55 signed PKG files. i will now try gaia manager for 3.55

3.55 currently does not support backup managers.

thats pointless. Then its not possible to run backed up games at all?

Yes it is... Do a search mate and look for the 3.55 EBOOT thread. You run them straight from the XMB.
