help with ftping backups

hi all,

i just got a console with cfw. now the guy that did it said to play backup i have to ftp to the hard drive but did not say where.

also i have a copy of a game thats split in to 2 files. ps3 game and ps3 update, what do i do with it.

can anyone point me in the direction of where i can go to read a guide or a tut, as i found how to get the ftp to work but cant get the games to work.

Look at the stickies in this section of the forum. There are PLENTY of tutorials explaining everything. For future reference this section is PS3 Game Backup.

You might as well learn everything from scratch. It'll pay off in the long run. Not just WHERE to put things... but WHY you have to put them there.
