I'm having a bit of trouble playing backups from my external hard drive (I'm using a 1TB Western Digital with a separate power source).
I'm using a fat 80gb ps3 on 3.55 kmeaw.
I've formatted the hard drive to FAT32 correctly and my ps3 detects it, I can also copy games to it from my blu ray disks no problem.
I made a folder called GAMEZ on the root of my hard drive and I dropped in it the folder BLES00912 (Virtua Tennis 4). I also changed the SFO file and followed the other instructions properly that was in the text file...other people have reported it working fine so I assume this is correct too.
From what I've read this is all I need to do is to put this BLES00912 folder in the GAMEZ folder and it should show up in the backup manager.
I'm using GAIA Manager 2.07 and it recognises my hard drive but just shows it as empty (ie. nothing shows up except the blu ray disc that's in my ps3 drive).
The only thing I can think it might be is the way the files are arranged in the BLES00912 folder.
Inside the folder I have 3 subfolders:
--patched_eboot (This contains the modified EBOOT.BIN)
--PS3_GAME (This contains a png file ICON0, PARAM.SFO, PS3LOGO.DAT, a png file PIC1 and 3 subfolders LICDIR [contains LIC.DAT], TROPDIR [contains NPWR01224_00 which in turn contains TROPHY.TRP]and USRDIR [which contains EBOOT.BIN, resource1.bin and resource.bin]).
I'm not sure if the png files can stay there or if I just need to move the PS3_GAME folder to the GAMEZ folder or if it's something with the names etc.
I've transferred it to and from my hard drive at least 5 times today but I can't get it to show up at all.
Oh and I also installed the pkg file from my usb stick to my ps3 as instructed in a readme file.
I've noticed that others have only had the folders PS3_GAME, PS3_UPDATE and the file PS3_DISC.SFB (on other games from what I've seen from videos on YouTube etc).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for being so extensive in my description, I just didn't want to leave anything out in case it's something as trivial as a naming convention and also because I'm pretty lost at this point so I'd rather be overly thorough.
