Yes game works. Game update fixed a lot of problem i have with this game.

I backed this game up from disc onto INTERNAL and my game freezes when fights load. Sometimes the fight loads fine and sometimes it hangs on a black screen and I have to restart the game.

I am using psgroove with hermes v4b and open manager 1.17.1

Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix?

i backed mine up onto a extertial drive using open manager >> UP0001-OMAN46756_00-0000111122223333. it split the big 4gig files down then i used the jb manger to run it

I'm having this problem with an internal drive... I'll rerip and see if it fixes it...

I also can't get MLB 10 to run, freezes the ps3 as soon as I try to load the game. Backed up from my disc as well.

actually you can play it from external, coz you can remove >30gb of (for some people) useless bonus videos.
go to: BLES00842\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\DAT\bik\ and sort the files by size
you can easily remove all "ps3_ex_1.pam" (1-5), which are the ONLY files over 4gb (they are 5 1080p fights lol) thats already 25.5gb. then you'll see that there are a lot more videos (.bik) which you could theoretically as well delete and save another 10gb (these are the "useless" ones, not tutorials, intros,... included).
so you can basically strip down the game to 5gb or less lol
if you wanna check out the videos before deleting(or replacing them with dummys), you can play them with this Bink Downloads (rad video tools)
i often try to delete as many useless files as possible (other languages, bonus vids i dont need, intros: eg to shorten the time needed to actually get into the game ,...) which sometimes leads to great size reductions. u should definitely try it if u dont have much space left on ur hdds (or as in this example want a game to be playable on external)
