GTA IV (plus DLC) not running on Waninkoko V2

Hello,

I have given up trying all possible methods but the GTA IV Complete Edition (including 2 DLC ) BCUS98114 is not running at all on Waninkoko V2. I have PS3 FAT 40GB CECHH00 (upgraded to 250GB). I am using MultiMAN ver 15.xxxx (have loaded it by pressing Select + X as well, so permissions are no problem). The game is copied into /dev_hdd0/GAMES/GTAIV.

The game starts and then loops in forever in the starting sequence (where certain game screen shots are displayed in a sideshow) and never goes beyond that to show the starting credits and start the game. I know the harddrive has 3500MB or more disk space empty.

Have tried deleting all save game data and disabling the network connection as well.

Also tried using the EbootFIX.exe to make the shadow copies and install the PKG file to execute the game from the XMB main menu icon.

The game refuses to be executed in any of the ways.

I know for sure I have the original Eboot BIN. The game was running fine with the PS3 firmware 3.41 with Jailbreak dongle Minimus AVR having Hermes v4 payload.

Has anyone really tried to play it with Waninkoko v2 and had success please guide me as well.

Excuse my English, I have the same problem with the game GTV IV Complete Edition BLES01128. The game works OK at 3:41 jailbrake firmware, when I moved to wanikoko v2 v1.16.00 and multimedia, the game no longer worked! the game is stopped in the display picture menu and the game never starts. If someone found the solution please post.

The following appears to apply to all 3.55CFW.

As mentioned in other threads, the immediate solution to playing this game is to play it off an external hdd. This overcomes the loading loop you describe.

What appears to be happening is the game locks up (you'll note the screen go a bit darker), as soon as the screens depicting, police, gangsters, hookers and car chases start to appear on the screen.

What is supposed to happen is you're supposed to get a loading bar appear with those screens in the background and then shortly after the loading bar fills, the game will boot.

Now, in my personal situation, I've installed this game and played it off my internal HDD successfully but this occurred because I installed it off the original BD.

I subsequently upgraded my hdd and tried to re-install off my external but got the problems you describe. Re-installing off the original BD fixed the problem. Short of that, playing off external works.

Seems that the mandatory game install to HDD may conflict with the copy that's already there on internal.

Running the external copy to get the game data to install and then going to the internal copy does not work.

Can't comment on DLC as I didn't get any and have no interest in logging on to PSN with CFW.

So what you are saying in short is to play the game copied to external harddisk. And it should work fine.

Ok will try that , can you please tell me if there are any files greater than 4GB in this game, cause the external FAT32 formatted harddisk has this limitation.

By DLC I meant that I am playing the GTAIV Complete Edition which already includes two pre-installed DLC (so you wont have to connect to PSN to download them).

If anyone else did have success using this method , please post your results.

@AlterEgo, GTAIV does not have any 4GB+ files so it's fine from ext HDD.

Same goes for GTAIV - Liberty City Stories but I don't have the complete edition so can't comment but I would think it's the same.

BTW: I have heard that it's the latest game update that makes this game unplayable on internal.

Unless/until someone can confirm this (or otherwise), I would seriously reconsider upgrading the game if anyone has it already successfully installed to internal.
