a couple things needs to verify.. I have the same issue as well. Took me 7 hours to figure it out.

    1. make sure you running on KMEAW 3.55, if you follow the first instruction from psx scene, that only get you to wutangxxxx version, you need to search for a KMEAW install. basically you need to run KMEAW after you run wutang.

1.5. everytime you try to run GT5, you need to run the lv2 patcher first before you run any manager.

    2. try regeoro manager , it could be a eboot permission issue.

After i got this two things down, the game run flawless. except it freeze on national license test 8.

report back if you get it resolved.

This one took quite a considerable amount of time to get working.

I am using kmeaw 3.55 Custom Firmware with the multiMAN 01.13.01 backup manager.

Eventually I got mine working by firstly transferring from PC > PS3 (Gran Turismo EU v1.00) using FTP blackb0x for example

Ensuring the permissions had been set correctly by downloading: Dashhacks :: PS3-Hacks :: Fix Permissions - Install the package and then run it.
(Incorrect permissions are sometimes assigned by the FTP software you use on your PC which is incompatible with the PS3, it causes black screen when you load the game - this fixes it)

Then I followed the update and EBOOT patch as detailed below:

    GT5 BCUS98114 1.05 Update:
    http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/t...g?product=0082

Then download the this and replace your eboot:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KK24YXR5

Mine the us vers it worked for me. On rogero 7.9a stealthed.
Then I LVL2 patched my PS3, inserted any origional PS3 game, ran multiMAN, loaded Gran Turismo 5 from the multiMAN, returned to the PS3 menu, and ran the game by selecting the disc in the PS3 menu

    Had the same problem.

But the above steps are unnecessary.

1.) Delete previous Game Data from XMB. You can keep saves.
    2.) Use the original EBOOT
    3.) Load Multiman
    4.) Higlight GT5
    5.) Press R1, fixes permissions
    6.) Run

YOU DO NOT NEED MODIFIED EBOOTS ON 3.55.
YOU DO NOT NEED AN EXTERNAL FIX PERMISSIONS PACK SINCE IT'S INCORPORATED IN MULTIMAN.

    Works on US version.

I am using multiman but I have no Luna1234 folder is this ok?

I started with NO install EVER or playing of GT5. I used Gaia Manager 2.00 and I think the PL3.pkg. I installed it in patched mode. I got the update using Awesome Update Finder. Installed the update, restarted and off I went.

Make sure you really do have an original eboot for your game.
