I just recently backed up GT5 again and I'm getting the same errors as I was a couple months ago, I looked at the GT5 fix thread and its pretty outdated but I was getting error 8001009 or something and then I copied over the eboot for my version but now it gives me a black screen and freezes the console....

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    Original PS3 60GB FAT, now using a 650GB HDD
    I'm running Kmeaws 3.55
    Multiman 1.16.13
Using Killzone 2 as the blu-ray disk.

Also the splash image for GT5 is just a whitebox with some text in it, is that right?

UPDATE: Okay, I used Deank's ebootMOD.exe and I modified the eboot with it and replaced it with the one on the HDD, tried the game and I see the Sony Entertainment logo and then it sits at a black screen, XMB still works though...this is confusing...

GT5 is a 3.50fw game so with 3.55CFW there is no need to modify the eboot. That said, I know the frustration you are feeling so I can't blame you for having a go.

The game does work with CFW3.55 BUT under the following criteria:

    1. Properly installed CFW.

2.Properly functioning Console (especially the laser).

    3.Properly functioning HDD

    4.Authentic and properly installed game.

If you're not 100% confident with any of the above points, that is more than likely where you problem resides.

If you're confident you can trust where you got the game from (original scratch free disc is best), try this: Delete the Game Data for GT5 from the XMB and then switch off your console and unplug it from the wall. Leave for a couple of hours (to drain the RAM).

Restart. Game data should re-install and game should run. If the problem persists. You'll have to delete the backup and re-rip.

Before you do, can you play the game straight from the disc? (Don't even think about a downloaded backup if you're having problems - you've got no control of what you're installing.)

How healthy is your laser? It might not be ripping the game correctly.

    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck.

Did u remove the gamedata and save files from your old gt5?
Gt 5 runs diskless so no worries there, u dont need to modify the eboot leave the original.

I forgot I installed the 1.05 patch for it, just recently reformatted because of some package that I installed that prevented the PS3 from booting, thankfully reformatting the entire HDD and re-installing 3.55 fixed it...

Could someone upload their original eboot to mediafire?

Otherwise I'll have to re-rip with the original eboot and try it without the patch...

Update: Haha, got a bit farther, I didnt re-rip it yet but I deleted the update data, ran as normal through multiman, got past the 3 boot images, then it said trophy registry data error then it quit to the XMB

Update 2: Tried it again for the hell of it, got past the error and its now installing files....

Update 3: All the screens with text went away and now I'm sitting at a black screen, pressed the XMB button but now its stuck with a loading icon and a black screen, hmmm...

Update 4: Running with the original eboot results in the 80010009 error >_>

I got gran turismo 5 working on internal, kmeaw 3.55. there is an eboot.bin and 1.05 patch .pkg floating around, install the package, then the game, and look in your usdir folder, if the gt.vol is split it will NOT work. Rejoin the files with something like ps3 split / ps3 rejoin, then upload the 11gb gt.vol to correct folder, erase the splits, and it should run properly. Did not test updating past 1.05. (this may work for version 1.0 as well, make sure your gt.vol isn't split!)

Edit: didn't read entire thread first, seems original eboot may work. Rejoin your split gt.vol.x666 or whatever files back to GT.vol and replace it.
Also doing the 8gb hd install might be counter productive since its already on the hard drive...
