I guess ur not using orignal back up from the gow 3 disc.
Mine works fine on gaia
I am using the untouched GoW3-ps3Duplex release.
Yea so it's not a backup of your game..
Once you purchase it You'll see that the save function works a treat!

I guess I'll ask here - will God of War 3 work without issue if I make a backup with my retail disc? Even if I don't have the disc in the system?
Yes, but for a higher compatibility, always run games with some PS3 game in the system. Doesn't matter if it's a demo disk or some old sports game that you picked up for $5. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches down the road.
I can't get GoW3 to run at all from an external drive. I'm on KMEAW CFW and lv2-v2.pkg. I'm installing a larger internal HDD tonight to see if that works. As it stands, I used Multiman 1.13 to rip to a 120GB USB external HDD. Whenever I try to play that way, the screen goes black, I see both the internal and external HDDs thrash for a bit, then I crash back to the XMB. When I move to the XMB's BD icon, the GoW information shows up, it just won't play. I've tried loading from both Multiman and Gaia, with the same result from each.
If I load the game from the actual GoW BD disk everything works fine.
PS Jailbreak Compatibility List - Home Game has files over 4GB so it can't be played on external.
Hmm, that's odd. Multiman didn't have any trouble ripping the BD over to the external drive. That is, it didn't report any errors during or after the rip process. Would it have automatically split any large files, or would they have been ignored?
It would have split the files for you.
