GOW Collection booting split files

Hey anyone got your GOW Collection working? on external hard drive?

Ive been trying with no luck and on GOW Collection there are no files bigger than 4+ gig so PSARC wouldn't be any use?

The psarc files are all less than 4GB+ so i dont know why its not working of external, it says Gaia v.201 cannot launch split files. so its copied to external using gaia, just cant launch it.

I installed it on my internal HDD and it works. But im trying to make it work of external.. any ideas? as my internal is on 40gigs

any info would be great thanx :-)

WTF are you talking about PSARC won't work. It is what you have to use to get it to work on an external HDD. Extract the two psarc files (with PSARC, PSARC means PS Archive and is the PS3 version of winrar) and the two folders you get put them where the psarc files were and play. Takes up more space this way but at least it is on an external.

But why would i need to use psarc? cause i thought u only use that to extract files that are 4gb+ mines only got 8x1gb file for gow1 and same for gow2

haha I didn't know that backup managers auto-split like that, guess I'm not really helping.

Backup managers will automatically split 4GB+ files into smaller 1GB files when you copy from internal to external. The game should then have an "_" in front of the name and be grayed out or some other way made to look different. This indicates a file or some are split and must be copied to internal before it can play. When the Backup Manager copies the game back to internal it joins the files automatically.

Also, the PSARC tool has mixed compatibility. I tried using it on Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 and they both locked up.

is there any way i can transfer back and forward my gow collection from external to internl just to play and transfer it back to external afterwards?

I have the same problem...Sat in front of my tv/ps3 for 40 minutes waiting for Uncharted 2 to back up to my external hdd and what do i see? Unable to boot or something split files. I went back out to the Gaia Manager menu and the Uncharted 2 title was grayed out and said unable to boot split files after I tried to launch it. So I deleted it.

Is there anyway to just back it up to my internal drive then copy it over to my external to be able to launch it directly from there, or do i have to deal with it and launch it from my internal?
