Many people have reported that installing game updates causes it to not work. FWIW, I have the US version, patch 1.03 (the latest) installed, and it works fine from external. Ripped from disc. Edit: and no True Blue.

Ive deleted it i have never had a problem with any other backup working what so ever. I'm going to choke it up to a bad scene release. Ive done alot of reading on it it seems to be common it only happens to some people. I put every thing on internal all my usb hdds are being used for other things. Thanks alot for the help thou all

i have almost the same setup as you(slim ps3, large internal hdd, tb 2.5) and it works fine on external w/o any options selected in MM. it is bcus version like my original. also, dont try select + x because that doesnt work on TB. it should work on internal also as long as you have the 30+ GB.

Wanted every one to know it was a bad scene release used a retail copy and works fine on internal hard drive. So to those having this problem cause i do see its common. You got a bad scene release! I put the retail copy in and backed up with mm and it worked perfect off of internal hdd .
