Games are visible but won't play from external USB HDD.. Help...I'm desperate
MultiMAN can mount NTFS partitions, but it can be used only to transfer the files from the external HDD to internal HDD. The NTFS partition can't be used to Play game or transfer a file from internal to external.
The main purpose of the NTFS is to transfer a Game's backup folders containing files bigger than 4GB without the splitting the files with an application.
NTFS partition can also be used to store and play multimedia files (movie in .mkv) bigger than 4GB. When launched from multiMan, the movie file is cached on the 2GB internal /dev_hdd1/ and ShowTime media player is launched by multiman to play the cached file. See the Media chapter to play video.
Thank you so much for your reply..
So if i understand correctly you are saying that itīs better for me to buy a bigger internal hdd for my PS3?
What about the videos on yootube from people claiming they are running their games from their external hdd?
Thereīgotta be a way..
Format the external FAT32 and if some games have files bigger than 4GB, put those games onto the PS3.
Okay.. that sounds like it could work.. i havenīt tried FAT32 on my external hdd to begin with.

If it's a split file game you're going to need BDEMU2 and select the Hermes payload from within multiMAN
CECHA01 (500GB Cobra 7/ REBUG REX 4.46 XMBM+, multiMAN/webMAN XMB, Showtime,)
After days of trial and error i'm still stuck at the same point...
is it even possible to play games from an external hdd??
Is getting a new and bigger internal hdd for my ps3 the only solution?
Yes it is possible to play games from external. Have you fixed permissions for the game you backed up in the game settings view on MM?

I believe that is the reason why i can't play the games from my external drive
how do i go about changing the permissions, then?
I also noticed that the game folders on my external hdd are "read-only" and it's impossible to change that.
does that have something to do with it as well??
