Hello guys. I have a little problem.
When i back up games on my external hard drive and launch them my TV scales them down to 1280x720 instead of the full HD 1920x1080. Do you have the Same Problem ?
Because I don't Know if the Problem is because of my external drive or is it just the fact that i put it on the external.
So just Tell me if you can Play Games with 1080p on your external :-P If Yes, i will just get another external hdd :-)
Thanks for your help

Oh my Gosh !!! You're the first one to answer to one of my questions in this forum. Thanks a lot.
And yeah im pretty sure that these games were 1080p on internal (even though im not 100% sure). I mean its Fifa 11. I think when it was internal it was 1080 p but on external all the games are downscaled.
And i thought maybe its the external hdd. You know it did always had some problems so it wouldnt surprise me if it was due to rhe drive.
So if you, or anyone else could confirm me that they can play games on the external with FULL HD, i would just try another hdd :-)
PS : im on my phone and somehow i cant open your link. Anyway, i will do so tonorrow :-) but thanks !

Sadly mate, you'll find the VAST (and I do mean VAST, you're looking at around 80-90%) of PS3 titles are anything but full HD (1080) Your TV may upscale, but they're not full HD and the storage medium would have no bearing on that. Your Fifa 11 for instance? 1280x720 - not 1080.

yeah, only a handful of games run in true HD. Think FFXIII and GOW3 are a couple, but IIRC the grand total is less than 10

It's a lot more than that now, but mostly you'll find fullHD titles to be PSN games. Full, retail, titles in FullHD (1920x1080, not upscaled but NATIVE) are exceedingly rare.

Thank you guys :-D it was just a coincidence that the games on internal were 1080p and those on the external not :-P

Fifa 11 runs in 1080p if u de select the 720p in the outuput settings , i play like that sometimes .... upscaled i think but im sure it looks better on my tv !
I got curious one day and backed up tiger woods 2012 and modified the pfo and selcted 1080p , (the game wouldnt run in 1080p even with 720p delselected ) and it played it in 1080p , now i was sure it looked much better so played like it for a week or so then got the dreaded YLOD from overheating graphics card . My therory is that the ps3's especially older models cant handle the newer games and overheat badly thats why we dont see a lot of 1080p games
