Game Data won't install!! multiple games
Game Data won't install!! multiple games –
I am doing something totally wrong here? Alone in the dark, soul calibur and valkyrie chronicles all require a data install and my ps3 won't install any game data. just hangs.
i am using newest pl3, gaia. tried checking in the forum - and no luck.
its like the game can't write data - this makes no sense as the three games listed are all listed as working no problem!!
Use PL3 no_unauth syscalls version or Hermes v4
I had this problem with Gaia and several games, because of the "direct boot" option. The games were not finding the correct path on the HDD for installation.
Just removing this option, and then going back to XMB before launching the game solved it. Hope I helped.
well i just flashed pl3 no authorized and hermes v4 and it still get a hang on data installs....
what makes even less sense is that i have other games that install the game data fine, NBA Jam, Borderlands works, Call of Juarvez or whatever.
I don't use direct boot ever either... How is this possible when the games i mention are known as issue free?!
I thought about maybe renting the retail copies, but I have also read that retail disc game data installs don't mesh... I also just tried direct boot and get no results...
Soul Calibur says it must install game data then just hangs... alone in the dark install progress sits at zero, same with valkyria chronicles.
I have an AVR key, so i flash whatever hex I want. I also have a ps3key but i have never used it.
Hrm, well that could explain it. Sometimes those any hex converters don't work right with all hex files. What boards hex do you usually flash?
If you have a ps3key then flash it to 4.0 (4.3 unnecesary now) and see if it works. At least then it will remove payload as a potential issue in an attempt to get to the root of the issue.
Ok so I tried with PS3key, with 4.0. No Luck... I also checked with games on both internal and external, made no difference. I asked OM 2.1 to verify permission, which did nothing. I have tried all variations I can think of (patch mode, with disc, without, direct boot etc...)
In fact I also tried on a second unit, what was supposed to be my retail unit and downgraded away my blu ray playback
--- Also with the AVRkey I have use the Teensy1.0 hex's and the AVRkey hex's.... I don't have playback issue, it seems its only in some games writing the game install data... like I said, they boot, and Call of Juarez or whatever it is, works fine off internal and required a data install...
