    I don't think there is any PS3 software available for file transfer between the PS3 and a PC over the USB interface.

    Is there any particular reason why you can't use a normal ethernet LAN connection ?

    1. Cut off plugs at both ends of usb cable.
    2. Hook up two 8P8C (rj45) connectors to the usb cable in a crossover form.
    3. Connect PC to PS3 using modified usb cable and use any ftp program.

    Maybe, it is possible to create a kind of Virtual HDD with fat32 partition within a PC and then connect it to PS3, so you could use it to copy stuff directly there...
    i've never heard of that but who knows if that's possible...LOL
