Fixing (some?) black screen "dev_hdd0 patched" eboots
Fixing (some?) black screen "dev_hdd0 patched" eboots –
If you have used hex editor instead of your silly "automated" tools (I use a combination of ftpfs mounting and bash scripting to really automate everything) you who would have seen that there's actually no /dev_hdd0/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/ string in the eboot. This is perfectly normal and actually correct programming practice.
You see only programming n00bs use hardcoded paths, and these games however use relative paths. Meaning, that it will run based on the folder location.
For example, in Killzone 2 (BCUS98116), after making your pkg as per normal, you dump your USRDIR into /dev_hdd0/game/BCUS98116/USRDIR/ and I swear it would work.
Go try it out and see if it fixed your game.
EDIT Ah well I think I just got lucky with Killzone 2, cuz I tried Another Century's Episode R and it didn't work... moar testing awaits :-\

You, who seem to be the god of automation, should show us, how to turn

Nothing like an epic fail to bring you back down to earth.
