Final Fantasy 13 pt 2 save problems after 1.06 update? anybody know a fix? –

So I read on PS3 news the other day about people experiencing problems with their previous game save after using the 1.06 update for FF13 pt2. It acts like it saves but it only seems to save part of your progress like your stats and items and such, but lacks game progress. It seems I now am having this problem as well. I have played thru Acadamia 400 AF three times and I am SOOO sick of it
Anybody by chance find a fix for this? maybe i need to just delete the 1.06 update...any help is appreciated.

As far as I know, my ps3 has never had an undetected error.

everyone is experiencing the problem you were experiencing. My advice is that just use the autosave feature (by exiting to Historia Crux or vice versa)
I believe that this is the FFXIII-2's AP (Anti-Piracy) protection. Since really, they can just a embed a code that will detect any payload on memory (SC-36 or Hermes) once detected, then that's it, anti-piracy code executes. Or maybe, it's a firmware issue, which is the game is executing a certain function that 3.55 is not yet existed, thus it results to a freeze.

Eh...gotcha. Yea it seems I am able to get around this problem now by just saving in the levels only. Then it does save where I left off in the level. The historia crux saving is shot though for the meantime i guess. Oh well as long as I know how to proceed in the game without having to keep repeating levels.
Not sure the extent everyone was having problems with getting their save to work after trying to save in the historia crux or not, but I found that after a failed historia crux save, my save was not saving level progress it seemed even when saving mid level. I would come back to the level and it would start all over with the cinematic and all. I was however able to somewhat fix my save again by deleting the update, starting the game, then saving mid level instead of the historia crux. This seemed to bring my save back to a workable state. Just figured I would mention in case others are having problems with their current save after trying to save via historia crux.
As far as I know, my ps3 has never had an undetected error.

I just tried Academia 500 AF and it works just fine for me on BLUS and BLES. I deleted the game data prior to installing everything, it's a 1022KB file. Try deleting the game data, NOT the game save, but the game data from the xmb menu. Reinstall everything. I don't have any other suggestions, it works.

On the 1.06 update, just being cautious i created a new save file from going to the historia crux and saving, then going to new save. It said it needs to go thorough three stages finsihed stage one and froze. I waited for like 5 mins, still stuck. Shut the ps3 off, powered back on, and loaded the game. The save worked fine all my info stats and progress. Reg and autosaves work fine on it.
The reason i created a new save is because other games lock save data to the last update level and require you to update to use save, and if 1.06 didn't work i didnt want to screw up.
I did not try to save over my original.

It did give me a notice when trying to go back to no update from the 1.06 update that I would need to update the game before using the save, however it did allow me to proceed and load the save, and quote "fix" my save to allow mid level saving again because it did seem after trying to overwrite my original in the historia crux on the 1.06 update, it was not mid level saving correctly. Long story short after going back to no update, saving mid level, re-updating and installing DLC, I was able to save correctly mid level again as normal and since then I just have not been even trying to save via historia crux to avoid this glitch. Seems to be fine now.
