Do you have either/both? Or are you just assuming or maybe it's a question?
I have both an original PSJB and PS3Key and if I try and remove the device (after the payload has been sent to the PS3) whilst the PS3 is turned on it simply resets.

I have a ps3key and minumus, but thats the way the payload works its not the key that matters...

I have a PS3Break 1.1 and I confirm the Dongle can be removed just after PS3 boot.
Open manager works and I'm playing RaceDriver:Grid right now...
... without any USB port used...
