Few questions regarding 3.55 Kmeaw

Hi,

Haven't been around for a while. I've got a fat ps3 running 3.41 with that USB dongle thing. It has a broken laser unit. What stopped me from updating to 3.55 kmeaw were some discless compatibility issues or as far as I remember some bricking issues. Probably not with kmeaw, but still I didn't want to take any risk. Well, i am sure by now the discless compatibility has increased. One of games I've been waiting for is L.A. Noire which is available only for 3.55 as for now. It convinced me to consider updating to 3.55.

Q1) Is the discless compatibility high or at least comparable to v4b hermes on 3.41? DO such games as Heavy Rain or Killzone 3 work with no disc in?

Q2) Is there any chance of bricking the console?

Q3) I keep almost all the games on the internal HDD. Will those be deleted after the update? Most of the games have an replaced EBOOT file, some are installed from PKG files. What should I do with those?

discless is like the same on kmeaw as on hermes, close enough.

i dont think the games will be deleted, as for the games that u changed u will need the original eboots or whatnot for them.

Thanks. I went straight from OFW 3.41 to CFW 3.55 and works fine so I guess u don't really need to install 3.55OFW. Still, if u want to update to OFW first here u are:

yeah u don't have to update to ofw from 3.41 ofw.

i updated str8 to 3.55 kmeaw a loong time ago from an old ofw and no prob.

well it's great to get rid of this dongle thing

I deleted the old 3.41 open manager and all my games were also removed (didn't know that could happen) so I had to spend some time copying them on the internal HDD. Apart from that no issues at all

How is 3.55 so far. i am still on 3.41 but i hear u have to have a retail cd for most game but my BR drive does not work. so i dont know if i should update or not.
