Okay, I was like many others who could not get any game to load using any backup manager on the new custom firmware. I tried everything to get GT5 working, and could not get it to work, it always just hung on the black screen. (Used Open Manager, Multiman).

This is how I got my GT5 working

    Install ROGERO MANAGER
I FTP'ed my GT5 game over instead of instead backing up from drive. (NEED ORIGINAL EBOOT.BIN)
Delete all game data, patches, etc. (not saves)
Run Rogero Manager, and select GT5. I got an update saying ("Patch EBOOT.bin?) CLICK YES!!!!
After that the game ran fine under rogero manager all the other managers.

NOTE: When I installed the 1.5 update first for GT5 then tried to run it, it would hang over the opening credits of the game. After I deleted the patch and tried it, it ran perfect.

Testing to see if I could install the update now and see if it works.

UPDATE: When I have update 1.5 installed, GT5 still hangs after intro credits screen. I dont know if its because Im using the PAL update on a ntsc console (Using PAL Game), but the game plays perfect without any updates installed. If this works for you, try installing an update and playing it and report if it works or not.

When I copy games via ftp the manager doesn't see them. I just copy them to the same directory that the program uses for disc backups. How do you do it?

Did everything exactly the same, it just doesn't tell me anything about patching EBOOT.BIN

that will happen if you are using a back up that has had the file paths and eboot changed, you need the origional eboot really

If that is correct, then why I ripped my original copy of GOW collection and it did not work?

I've tested Resident Evil Gold and it worked fine using external drive but not using internal. I am still getting black screen on every game on internal HDD, external seems to work fine...
