Hey guys, just wondering, how does one use an ethernet cable to FTP with the ps3 rather than over wifi?

What must be done so that i can just connect the FTP via ethernet, surely its more than just hooking the cable up. Do i need to create a bridge?
My laptops on wifi btw so i guess i need to bridge the connection with the local ethernet?

    heres what to do,

connect ethernet cable to PS3 and PC, go into:
    PS3: Network settings>internet connection settings>
    custom>wired connection>manual settings>manual IP settings: input these:
    IP address: 192.168.0.2
    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default router: 192.168.0.1
    Primary DNS: 10.1.1.1
    leave rest and mover on>>
    MTU automatic>proxy Do not use>UPnP Disable>Enter

    now go to PC:
control panel>network settings, find LAN(local area connection)>right click on it>Properties>click on internet protocol(usually at the bottom)>
Properties>Tick use the following IP address> input these settings:
    IP address: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway: 192.168.0.2
Tick Use the following DNS server address> input this:
    Preferred DNS server: 10.1.1.1
leave rest click ok, your all set.

    Use Flashfxp, click connect>input this address> 192.168.0.2>ok
all should be good, hope it helps

Yes, you need Blackbox FTP (or any other FTP program) for this.

As for setting the IP address, you don't even need to do that. After plugging in the cable, just go into settings and jot down your PS3 IP address. Stick that into FlashFXP and you're good to go.
