Do Folder names matter?

Hi. Does the name of the game folder matter on your external drive? For example, when backed up Sacred 2 is in a folder named BLES00410. Does it make any difference if I change the name of that folder to Sacred2. I tried this with alpha protocol and the game seems to work fine but I am more interested in if anyone has had anything weird happen while playing with a renamed folder. Thanks in advance.

all my folders are named after the game, plus I believe multiMAN now backs up games into folder like BLES00410-Sacred 2

Thanks. I figured it didn't matter but i didnt want to change them all to then find out i have to rename them and have lost the original names.

all the original names are in the file PARAM.SFO
which can be read in note pad and edited with a hex editor (which I don't suggest unless you know what your doing)

so since i know mm does names then like you said, i have about 7 like that, but i also have like over 20 without the actual names, so your saying, just to be clear, i can just remane"BCUS12512" to "Killzone2" and the game will work like it was?

lol thanks tho i will do this, much easier than know what BCUSblahblahblah is lol
and fyi, i only stalk my wife, but thats for an adult site type of talk lol, well am off to bed, ill send one of my followers to stalk you till i get back here in about 6 hours
