Would using the actual 20+gb usrdir folder during package creation work as well?
i actually havent think of that, normally im lazy so i copy the pkg file to my usb plugged in the ps3 directly via ftp server)
but what i meant here was ps3 only accept FAT32 file system, how can your 20GB+ pkg file put on any drive without NTFS?
I am interested in PS3 too recently. And firstly I do not know the PS3 can not recognize NTFS file system. My friend told me many people do not know this like me at the first time. Hehe, she recommended me there is tool designed for convert NTFS to FAT32, and it has solve many PS3 users’ problems which found that NTFS file can not be read on PS3.

If it can't see it from there (I've thought of it, never tried it though) then you have to use the demo installer method:
PSN Demo Installer & Demo Manager Released – Install PSN Content on your Hacked PS3! | PS3 Hacks :: PS3 Homebrew :: PS3 Downloads
Alright this method works but it'd take incredibly long to do (probably 5 hours to package large games)
