I have Heavy Rain and am wanting to back it up and I see there is already a european eboot file and I found a us one but it doesn't say where to put the game files. Anywho, is there a difference between the US and european eboots? Can I use the heavy rain euro eboot on my US version heavy rain?

yes you can swap eboots. some wont work though but most will work no problems
Would an example of a non-working eboot give a trophy registration error? If this question has already been asked or resolved could you guide me to the proper thread?
I have mw2 US version and i used the pkg for eu because i didn't find it for us . The game actually works but the trophies no .
Where do you place the eboot's after you did a backup?
I can confirm that the Heavy Rain euro eboot works on the USA version. I also got the trophy registration error and in order to fix that all I had to do was to copy the trophy folder over to the folder that the package installed because the package i used didnt have a trophy folder in it, just the usrdir with the eboot and the root game directly files
