Dead Space 2 Serial Code system
Dead Space 2 Serial Code system –
01-22-2011,01:30 PM
After waiting long time what will sony do to prevent JB consoles to enter PSN gaming i guess they have come to a solution. It migth be just EA games that bicthing around as well.
Either way if you want to play Dead Space 2 online you need to enter a Reedem code comes with your game manual. I just recived my Dead Space 2 copy (dont ask how) and i was just about to play but game asked me if i want to accept use of terms and for online play enter reedem code that is in your manual. I guess battle gain an other perspetiv with this move by either Sony or EA games. I guess Sonys serial rumours wasnt just a rumour after all.
However Personaly i think was a fair move for piracy which can keep demands to minimum and allow JB players to enjoy PSN as they want. I think this would be a nice idea. I m a paying customer to Sony since the begining and i was planing to keep that way. Instead of baning JB consoles this new solution is wellcome by me.
Peace

all ea games have this now, fifa 11 , tiger woods, medal of honor. its their online pass. even on the xbox 360. or you can purchase the online pass from the store for about £8, its their way of making pre owned gamers pay still.

This is something EA has started doing. Any game that has anything to do with EA will require an online pass to play online. Usually these are located on the back of the game manual when i buy the game new

That is a great solution, however I believe Sony want to eat their cake and have it to. Would be great if we just needed one machine to play online and offline. I also Pay for the games I Play, however an Evil company like Sony would want to sell us another machine just like microsoft did just so they can make another few bucks. I don't really belive in cheating problems, incase there would be, it would still be the same for everyone so people would try to find better and better cheats, a solution to that would be a separate channel for people who want to cheat and one for people who want to play the original games as they are supposed to be.
However I think Sony will start banning people, if not for the money then just to beat MS and Nintendo in sales. It doesn't matter what we think, they do what they want, they always did, even before piracy was an issue, They ereased the Linux support without even saying I am Sorry. Piracy or no Piracy. They make the rules and we should follow, that is their philosophy...
I am happy somebody learned them a lesson, piracy is an issue, I don't like to pay for people getting a free ride however I trust in people and I belive most of us are honest, If something adds colour to my life, I want to give something back. It's easy "Pay For What you Play" just to have a margin of error I pay for some titles I just like but didn't have time to play.......

I have to say I completely understand and support the system EA has implemented with the codes for online play.
It still allows people to buy used games and allows EA to see at least some profit from second hand sales if the customer wishes to play online.

I don't. Completely understanding with what? Making more money, destroying the second hand market?? **** that.
It still allows people to buy used games and allows EA
No it doesn't. So I wanna buy a used game from ebay or from my forum and I must pay additional 8$ for multiplayer? Really, that allows people to buy used games? That's just for making more money because pricks at EA aren't satisfied with millions they already made.

And at the same time the second hand market is killing the new games market, you cant expect a company to bother making games if they dont see an audience putting up the cold hard cash to support a title

yes you must pay an extra 8$ after all you are playing on EAs servers using their product after all. If its their intention to only let new game purchasers play and use their services then its up to them.
You still get to play the game, get a taste for it and if you decide that its something you wish to play online then you are welcome to it after you pay for it.
I wont debate whether or not EA is a money hungry greedy company, but they are a busniess and a business needs to see profits increase to warrant making more games and expanding the company. At least this way they are making some money on used game sales (which are a substantial loss for companies)
You seem to be very used to the idea of a used item being exactly in the same condition as a new item. Fact is the term used and second hand, means that the item has lost some value, hence you are getting it cheaper than the original new price.
All EA is doing is denying you the right to play online, a right that is frankly reserved for first come, new game buyers. And I completely understand that.
As someone who has friends and often speaks to people in the games industry I understand why developers would like to see such features in place and I see nothing wrong with it.

Multiplayer is the weakest portion of this game, the campaign, however, is very good !!
