Dark Souls - Some controls not working

I recently bought a Dark Souls and copied it to internal hard drive. I ran it from Multiman and the game started with no problem. But the intro cut scenes did not play and it went right to the main screen. Do you guys know why this happened??

Also, I can create a new character and play the game. But somehow R1 or R2 buttons do not work. I can move the characters but cannot hit the enemies. I tried to climb up the ladder but no buttons worked. So I am stuck at about 2 minutes of game play.

I updated to 1.05 and installed the fix. Can you guys help?

my game also got bugged with the 1.5 update (when it actually launched, had some issues with regions), so you can either get the fixed 1.06 update, or get the prepare to die edition wich is updated and have the dlc, sadly you need to start over, or maybe you can copy your save files, since the only thing that changes probably is the ID of the game, so it needs to create a new save.

Game wont work with sega genesis controller, only atari works with sega controller.
