CFW and upgrading hdd

just stuck in a bigger hd....but it wants me to load 3.55....so if i upgrade hdd do i have to do OFW>CFW>lvl2 again? is this safe?

Put back in your old HDD and restore your firmware back to 3.55 OFW. Then when installing your new HDD, give it 3.55 OFW. Then you'll have to do the CFW>lv2 thing again after you're back up and running.

ok so how do i restore to OFW 3.55 ive already got old hdd in...recovery mode with ofw on usb? im not even sure if its worth it....im just stealing my jtags 250gb to replace slims 120...but i figure i have a better chance at getting some of these games that others say are working, running of hdd instead of external...

Yep, install 3.55 OFW via recovery, reboot and make sure you're good, then upgrade the HDD.

sweet, thanks chesh worked a charm....now i have 205gb's, didnt lose as much as i thought...my poor jtag has offcially become a red headed step child lmao...hopefully putting some of my problem games to hdd instead of usb will help...

I am going to upgrade my PS3 HDD to 1 TB, and I see you already did the same , did you have any PSN games or DLC? How did you transfer the old info to the new one ??? I ahve a bunch so i wonder how it goes when using CFW and backuping data , etc.
