hmmm i have renamed folders in my ps3 to the actual game name with out editing the param.sfo and they work, dont know exactly as to why would you do that do...so...why?
mine works fine with just the folder rename
and also yes to those who dont know, only edit param.sfo and eboots info with a hex editor.
Editing the param.sfo is not necessary, is just "for looks" lol, when u change the game title on the param multiman shows whatever u write there as the namr of the game, u could rename gran turismo 5 to " the best racing game ever omg " (if thats ur thing) or Black Ops to " killing fools " lol, is just nice to have the option since my preferred view on mM is the coverflow style and that one does not show the game path/folder so is nice to have it on the name itself.
i will try this tho, i know i only have 3 games that BS me, time shift and cod mw 1&2. Thanks again for the info bud![]()
you can rename the folders from what name you want except this things:
- non-ASCII character not allowed... like JIS Characters or maybe some special characters are not allowed.
- No spaces allowed... (some backup managers support file naming with spaces, but most of them having problem on that case)
----------
About Select+X thingy:
- [Select+X] is a hot key to enable BD-Emulation for multiMAN v1.15XX Backup Manager.
- [Select+X] is a "BD-Emulation" Fix, this is quite different from the old "Mounting" the Specific Location of your backup to dev_bdvd, which is the PSJailbreak doing on its exploit.
- BD Emulation fix is only working via USB devices... but BD Emulation is also used on debug consoles which is capable booting game over the network. Maybe its possible in Retail Console soon or maybe not.
- [Select+X] fixes so many games that is commonly get black screen. Some of the games are still getting black screen, but that is "file permission" causing the problem.

U can do spacing on multiman and some special characters work, dont use ":" or "." For example, bur u can use " ' " fot like assassin's creed or drake's fortune, use "-" instead of ":" and u should be fine, eg " call of duty - black ops "
Lol, thought we were talking about folders again.
Just to clear the confusion:
Param.sfo: anything goes
File Folder name: restrictions apply
And we are talking about multiman, dont know about other managers.
