    Hi!

I have Acer H233H: 23″ 1080p LCD Monitor and I would like to play PS3 console plug to monitor. Can I do that ? How ? The reason I am asking is because my roommate always watch Sony 1080p HD 40 inches so I dont want to bother him.

    Pic here:

Yeah you can, but you'll need some type of hdmi to dvi/vga converter. And you'll have to output your sound separately thru the spdif on the back of the ps3 to external speakers. Dvi/vga doesnt do sound.

I'm playing my PS3 thru my 24" Asus Monitor, cept my monitor has hdmi input so I dont need to use a converter. Thing is though, most of the games look blurry cause you have sit too close.

Either get the DVI-HDMI connedtor or get a CABLE WITH dvi ON ONE END AND hdmi ON THE OTHER. You will then need to get the sound sepataely from the PS3 either use headphones /Hi-FI whatever you like

    Awesome. Thanks, guys.

EDIT: Then how do I turn it on ? It will just automatically appear on monitor from ps3 and you are all set ?

Maybe if not turn off ps3 then hold the power button until you hear a beep , should come on then.

usually it would show up on your screeen and tell you that an hdmi connection has been detected and whether to use that for video/audio, altho once you agree to use that, the next time you try to plug it to a non hdmi source, you wont see anything, thus you will need to hold down the power button until it becomes red and bit more until you hear an extra beep

dvi to hdmi will feature no sound tho, so you would need to use a headset or use 2 cables and a converter for the sound, which would need setup (setting video to hdmi, and audio to the ps3 cable)
