Bluray Drive stops working

after I backup a game to the external or internal
and try to run it through multiman i choose the option to go back to the xmb to run the game via the disk i have never tried the diskless option yet the game runs but if the game freezes and i have to hard reset the system

after i turn the system back on the disc I have in the ps3 will not show under the games on the xmb so i eject the game from the disk drive reinsert it turn off the ps3 it then recognizes it sometimes after i restart the ps3 a couple times

is my disc drive going bad? or is it something to do with the kmaew 3.55 firmeware

Also any got the ntsc version of star wars force unleashed to run on multiman? it runs but after the opening movie it freezes and black screen
the game runs from the disk but if i back it up to a external it freezes

My laser on my slim went bad after installing Kmaew on my slim, but this would be PURELY COINCIDENTAL.

I have seen a pure nonsense thread suggesting that Kmaew CFW has been responsible for BDROM drive not working. Which is complete crap.

If your laser has gone which I`m 99% sure it has, suck it up mate, and check a youtube vid on fitting a replacement. No amount of downgrading/upgrading will fix it.

IT IS A COINCIDENCE. This is for anyone else reading this.

I've went through this 7 times already, it has NOTHING to do with any CFW its simply the laser going out, everytime mine has went out, it kinda picks and chooses when it wants to read blu ray , all cd and dvd read fine, but blu rays fail to show up on xmb... if your out of warranty open the console and clean the laser, it only gave me an extra 2 weeks of it working, but u will need to get a new laser 4 sure
