Blazing Angels 2 Freeze at Start?

Hey guys I'm having a problem
When I try to run BA 2 from external HDD it freezes at the message " do not turn of the ps3 system when the HDD indicator flashes"

is anyone having the same problem?
according to the psjb compatibility list it should work on external
any help would be appreciated!

it says freeze at the first mission loading screen
but my problem is I cannot even get into the menu
