Black screen on DW7 –
Sorry if its in the wrong section, im new to the entire scene.
Ive searched for 3 days on how to make Dynasty warriors 7 (BLUS30690) work on 3.55 kmeaw and ive came up with a few EBOOTS..
all of which just black screened both on internal and external methods.
Got MM 04.05 with hermes emu, also tried the SEL-X method, on both intern and extern, which didnt work.
is that game currently even playable?
Welcome to the scene BTW. I may be able to help you out.
Yes the BLUS version of DW7 is working on Kmeaw 3.55
Just like recently with the fixes for the True Blue only EBOOTs that you can make yourself; last year deank released a multiMan tool that would do the same thing and was far easier to use. You can search for it under "multiman ebootfix" or "multiman ebootmod".
Creator of MultiMan releases EbootFIX and EbootMOD - PS3 Development - EliteModScene.com
It is a drag and drop type program for making games FW 3.55 and under work with CFW systems like Kmeaw. (I don't think the link on that page above is working because it is multiupload.com) but I will dig around and try to find it and then Edit this post with a link to the EBOOT_FIX and DW7 PKG EBOOT Fix file I made and works.
BTW use the NPDRM part to make your eboot fix's with the EBOOT FIX program, the website I gave you explains how to use the tool a bit.
Hope this helps. Give me a shout if you need help.
Dynasty Warriors 7 Kmeaw 3.55 EBOOT - Download [BLUS30690]_Dynasty_Warriors_7_(HDD)-FW_355 pkg, fast and secure downloading from crocko.com[BLUS30690]_Dynasty_Warriors_7_(HDD)-FW_355.pkg
Multiman EBOOT FIX - Download multiMAN_[EBOOT_FIX] rar, fast and secure downloading from crocko.com[EBOOT_FIX].rar
Note: From what I remember you must launch the game via the DW7 Icon in the XMB/Games area after you install the PKG file (not a game manager like multMman or Rogero).

You can try this way as well to, it's all done in multiMan
!) Delete all GAME DATA you may have on you PS3 system for "Dynasty Warriors 7" game!
1) Open multiMAN in file manager mode on your PS3 system (press SELECT+START)
2) Browse to your game (on internal HDD) and press [R3] while PS3_GAME folder is selected
3) This operation will create SHADOW copy of "Dynasty Warriors 7" to:
and --> /dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30690
4) Exit multiMAN
5) Copy the generated PKG file to the root folder of USB stick or USB HDD:
--> for firmwares 03.55- : "[BLUS30690] Dynasty Warriors 7 (HDD)-FW_355.pkg"
6) Install the PKG file from [* Install package files] menu on your PS3
7) Launch the game directly from "Dynasty Warriors 7 (HDD)" icon on the [GAME] column in XMB
8) If prompted to update to newer version - cancel the update
I have not tried this but it essentially does what that EBOOT FIX program does in windows, i.e. dragging and dropping the PS3_GAME folder of DW7 and creating a pkg file.
Thanks alot for your help, Ryan.
I also tried the shadow copy thing, but i couldnt figure it out on what do i do with the created file (it says it created a package but U30690 is a directory, without a pkg inside)
so if its so easy to create an eboot fix, could it be updated to created eboot fixes of the true blue eboots? or is it just for 3.60 games?
its now quitting to XMB when i launch it via GAMES folder of XMB, guess its progress but im missing something.
Disregard that, got it to work with the PKG you uploaded (renamed it).
Thanks alot, friend!

Per your first question i think the pkg file is in the XMB area under games where you install pkg files. It gets made there I believe, either temporarily or for good. So it still be still there.
About creating EBOOT's. Yes, it's very easy. That program was one of the easiest ones to use. All you have to do is drag the PS3_Game folder from the BLUs or BLES folder to the EBOOT_FIX.exe program and the proper files get made in the eboot fix folder that looks like BLUS/BLESXXXXX-NPDRM or something. I forget if it was mmade for FW3.60 and below or to make all games FW3.55 and below to work. I'm sure you can find out exactly with a little research.
That webpage i first listed has the in's and out's of the program though.
I have a lot of the game fixes still on my HD for some reason so let me know if you can't find anything or need help making a game working.Youcame in to the scene at agood time. The whole DEX thing is starting up. If I were you I would read up on that and some tutorials. a lot of programs are being made for people switching to DEX.
the game works with the pkg you delivered.
dex sounds way too complicated to even begin gathering required items for it, i dont even know its benefits so im just going to wait on that
