for the 3.55 CFW there are three popular backup managers

    Gaiamanager
    Multiman
    Rogero Manager

i have personally used all three and am corrently using rogero manager 8.1

im just giving my personal look at all three

first up GAIA. when i first installed kmeaw i choosed GAIA because of word of mouth and its a good solid manager. the copy feature is probally the most fluid i have seen.doesn't freeze doesn't lag gives perfect results every time but other lthen that i haven't seen much. the compatablity is ok all my games work minus one or two. its really simple. and its a good manager for beginners.

next up is multiman. they dont call it multiman for nothing. this manager has so many features its insane. but that seems to be the managers down side is the many features. because of so many features this manager has alot of versions to correct them. but the features seem to be good. the filemanager is good easy and simple the controls are good easy to understand. the user interface is as friendly as it can get. the compatability with games is very high has very good features for black screens and non working games. also this manager has a working ntfs reader. means it can read ntfs hard drives with a small alter to the options file. over all good mangaer if you dont mind the constant version changes.

last but not least is rogero manager which is what im corrently using. this manager is about quality not quantity. it doesn't have alot of features like multiman but all the features run perfectly and flawlessly. by far the best compatability i have seen with games. controls are very simple and easy to use to navagate the interface is user friendly like all the rest. the least talked about but this manager has alot going for it. the copying process i admit was abit disappointing. it wasn't fluid was choppy i thought it was frozzen a few times. but the game copied and work fine.

    so here is my list
1 & 2 are multiman and rogero pretty much personal preference which one is number 1 and 2

and 3 will be gaia manager

    1: MultiMAN
    2: Gaia
3: Rogero (which I don't even use any more)

I use multiman because it just looks the best and most impressive. I like the consistent updates cause they kind of keep me paying attention to this site. I like Gaia for backups, and that's all I use it for since it doesn't detect games on my internal HDD?!? And I don't even use rogero anymore, The background took forever to load when scrolling through games, I'll probably download the newest one over spring break or summer maybe.

The most important thing for a BM is to support the latest payloads and spoofs. Both multiman and rogero do this now, so it's a matter of choice.

Personally, I think multiman's animation and sounds are a bit over the top. You can disable animations but I haven't found a way to disable the background music. I don't get why a BM should be playing music anyways. Will try the latest rogero today to test it's interface. If it let's me launch my games quicker and easier and still look good I'll switch right away. Don't need a filemanager or anything like that, FTP is so much quicker.

Why don't you remove the sound in MM folder?

    @Kamse

That indeed did the trick, more specifically deleting SOUND.BIN. Thanks for the tip, the interface is pretty good with the bells turned off. There's some decent themes to Rogero, but multiman has the edge. Could be improved though.

    1) multiMAN
    2) Rogero
    3) HManager
    4) Gaia

I have them all installed, but I use mostly MM. Been using it since it's begining there isn't any better for me. Constant updates it what keeps it the best, also has the best theme compatibility
