Bacups dosent work anymore, update from jb 3.41 to kmeav 3.55

I have updated my firmware from 3.41(using jb dongle) to 3.55 kmeaw custom fw. The problem is that almost every game now dosent want to load. I have tried to change eboot.bin's for 3.55 for my backups but they dont work. From 20 backups just 4 games i was able to start that have eboot.bin's that work on both 3.41 and 3.55, newer one like socom 4,mortal kombat,motorstorm and crysys. Older ones with original eboot dont work, older ones with eboots made for 3.55 dont work. I dont know why i have changed firmware, i never had problems on 3.41. Im missing something? Can anyone help me with an advice?

P.S. Im using multiman latest version, my games are in /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ , even the older games that have original eboots and param files dont load, i have tried the new brink patch with the game, dosent load.

You do know that multiman no longer carries the files that are needed to run back ups? I can't remember what the file is called but it needs to be downloaded separate a search should be able to find it.

BDEMU.pkg. You can search Google for it, or go to the PS3 Game Backup subforum, find the MM sticky, click on the paperclip on the right, scroll down till you find bdemu.rar, extract, put it on a thumbdrive, install via Install Packages.

I have bdemu installed and i have stated in the first post of the thread that from 20 backups only 4 works. If i didnt had the bdemu.pkg i have not been able to load them but they work ok. Its strange, older games with oroginal files dosent load, i get a black screen or im sent back to xmb, im pissed of. I have instaled 3.55 for brink but now im sorry, all my games dosent work, 3 hours i have tried to put on every game the original eboots or eboots fro 3.55 but with no luck.

Later Edit : I have erased from internal hdd and remade a backup of my battlefield bad company 2 and...........black screen. What in the world is the problem? On 3.41 it worked fine without changing anything.

I reinstalled the kmeav cfw but im hit by the same problem. Anyone know some other custom formware that dosent brick ps3-s? Im willing to try something else for my phat ps3 cause im on the edge of my nervs

Tryed that too, even games that have not been backed up never on the ps3's hdd are not working, just those 4 games(crysys2,motorstorm 3, socom 4 and mortal kombat) strange.

Run fixpermissions.pkg and fix permissions built into MM. More then likely your permissions got screwed up in the upgrade. Happened to me too. Also, are you trying to play diskless? Diskless compatibility went down in 3.55 unless you use Iris Manager (which I've only heard has better diskless support).

Edit: Also, the only games that should need modified files now are the games that were for 3.56 and above. Everything else should have original files.

On 3.55 Kmeaw you need unmodified EBOOT's and clean data installs in order to get your 3.41 backups working.
3.41+ games needed modified EBOOT's to run on 3.41,
so maybe that's your problem?

Ill try fixpermision.pkg, just to find the file. In multi manager i have fixed the permisions to games that wanted too boot but......

ill get back after i instal fixpermision.pkg

I have alot of older games with original data that 3.41 loaded fine, i evene tryed to back up bbc 2 again and it dose the same thing, black screen and other games send me out in xmb.

Just for S&G (shits & giggles), also try doing a file system rebuild in recovery mode if it still doesn't work after fix permissions. Also, try switching your game directory to /dev_hdd0/GAMES or /dev_hdd0/GAMEZ. Those are now the more appropriate location for your backups, as if you ever delete Gaia manager you'll lose everything in that LAUN folder.
