Backup Manager Help! Not loading AT ALL!!

I am a noob to the ps3,

but i have hacked the wii/ps2 and dreamcast. I have searched high and low but I have not found one other person with the same issue i have. I have a 80gig 4usb ps3 on 3.55 cfw i followed numerous guides on multiman with and without the bdemu.pkg however whenever I load multiman I get nothing. A blank screen no words no background nothing. I though maybe it needed time to intialize at first but after 5 mins nothing, the ps3 is frozen.correction no back up managers load. I've tried rogero and gaia also. the same just a blank screen.what am i missing? i've tried diff versions of multiman in 15 then 16.05 and 16.08. gaia v2.01 and 2.07. and rogero 8.2.

@ chesh yes laser went out which is why im trying to back up. arent others with bad drives using back up managers?

i have a brand new laser, but fubar br controller, i can still load backup managers and what not, i just can't play alot of games diskless unless a xmb package works.

do you have lvl2 patcher? i would get that and hermes manager 1.0 for 3.55kmeaw, you will need to run lvl2 patcher before loading that manager.

do you have an ftp app? if so and that works, look around and see if you can find anything that seems outta place and report back here on it before doing anything to or with it.

maybe try to reinstall ofw3.55 and try another source download of kmeaw 3.55?
