New user here. Thanks to everyone that gives great advice on this forum.

Ran into an issue, installed Kmeaw cfw, and latest versions of Multiman and Rogero. I have an AV receiver. PS3 connected by HDMI to receiver, then HDMI from receiver to TV. Backed up Red dead redemption from disc. When it launches the TV says Video format not supported. I connected directly from PS3 to TV and it is ok. PS3 plays game discs and Bluray movies no problem through the receiver. Also before backing up RDR I tested GT5 Prologue and it worked fine through receiver.
I am missing out on surround sound so would like to sort this out.

Maybe re-rip the game? My PS3 is hooked up exactly the same and I have no issues. Games are region-free so should be no trouble. Maybe TV settings?

    +1

Mine is hooked up the same way too and I have no problems.
    Launch CECHA01 60GB now 500GB
    Kmeaw 3.55 CFW
    multiMAN 2.03.00

-The only disc a PS3 can rip is a PS3 Game Disc!
-New versions of multiMAN can be installed over old ones, no need to uninstall!
-If your games won't work, have you installed BDEMU2?

I did rip it again. Its as if the PS3 outputs the video differently when using a backup manager than playing the disc directly. TV is ok as it plays no problem via the receiver when I am playing from an actual disc and also when connected directly to PS3.
Have you tried it with this particular game?

Red Dead works fine for me, hooked up the same way as you. Using multiMAN 1.15.00 and running from internal.

I've ripped other games since, all working fine via receiver. Re-ripped RDR again (4 times) still wont work via receiver, but fine direct to TV. Strange that I am the only person having this problem.

ive never understood the step of going through the av reciever. i just connect ps3, dvr, etc. to tv and use a digital audio cable from tv to av reciever. never have a problem w/ anything not playing through surround.

well theres more options than just straight to tv, but mainly lets use example:
your tv has 2 hdmi imputs.
you receiver has 4 or 5.
so basically your not stock to just using just 2 hdmis by default due to the tv only being equipt with 2, no you can hook up for hdmi units to the receiver, and just use 1 hdmi input on the tv, and still have 1 to spare

Maybe use a different HDMI port on your TV. I have 4 on mine and just use the first one: HDMI/DVI

Also check the settings on your receiver.
