Army of 2 40th day US version freezes on descent mission after murray gives you tutorial when your on the roof and the building explodes. Read others have same problem at exact same point. Only solution I read was get EU version, so i switched eboots change PARAM.SFO to europe got game working, didnt detect US save so i fooled the US save into thinking it was EURO, game detected save, froze again exact same spot. Anybody found a solution?

Well, I have the EURO version updated to 1.02 and I've never had problems with it, you should get the EURO version.

Yeah, i am in the process. But first I think I may put the US one on internal to see if that does anything.

EDIT: Does the same on internal US. Yep going to get EU version.

Eboot problem. Freezes like that are ALWAYS eboot problems. (Had the same problem with Killzone 2.)

Actually it could also be a corrupted data problem...

I got it to work. Solution sucks unfortunately. Got the european version (BLES00659) took the save game from dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedata/BLUS30408 put all data in this folder in dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedata/BLES00659 (folder I created). Changed PARAM.SFO in hex from us (BLUS30408) to euro (BLES00659) (I think you can mod your cash in here too but didnt try). Started up Euro version of game, it detected the save when i chose the save (saved right before crash on US version) a data is corrupted 80029207 error came hit O backed out of error game continued where I saved in US version no freeze.

Bad thing was since I just checked to see if freeze was fixed, I didnt play to the next autosave, since my save had a data corrupt error the next time I played the saved was erased. So i think if I would of continued playing until the next autosave it would of overwritten the "corrupt data". So now I have to start all over again, luckily it was only 2 missions.

EDIT: HAHAHAHAH! I used recover my files on my USB and got my save back so I will try again and this time get through to the next save to see if it overwrites the corrupted save and doesnt delete itself.

well it wouldnt auto save it said it was corrupt when i played. SO... i did this:

Use Filezilla FileZilla - The free FTP solution
    OpenPS3FTP 2.3 http://psx-scene.com/forums/f187/arm...-v2-3-a-79035/ (OpenPS3FTP : v2.3) or higher,
    1) Make sure you have a save from the region you want to play in. So in my case I wanted to play a EU ARmy of 2 4oth day.. so I ran the game, made a save and quit.
    2) FTP in and go to hdd0\home\00000001\savedata\<SAVE_FOLDER_THAT_YOU_ MADE_IN_STEP_1> and copy the whole folder for backup.
    3) Grab the latest version of PS3SaveUnlocker (if it doesnt have a checkbox with "Copy Console ID" then that version is too old, find a newer one.
    4) Use the left LOAD to load up the SFO from the backup folder you made in step 2, and use the right LOAD to load the SFO from the save from the other region (US). Save the resulting SFO somewhere as PARAM.SFO
    5) Delete the hdd0\home\00000001\savedata\<SAVE_FOLDER_THAT_YOU_ MADE_IN_STEP_1> from your console and rename the save you want to use folder to what that folder was named. in my example it was BLES00659 and BLUS30408. So I deleted the BLE folder from the PS3, and renamed the BLU folder to BLE so that the US save was named BLES00659... basically rename the save folder from another region to save folder from your region, while keeping all the files inside intact.
    6) Replace the PARAM.SFO in that folder with the one you made in step 4
    7) FTP the result into hdd0\home\00000001\savedata\
    8) Load the game, and it should see the save.

If sava data has corrupt message it should still put you at the point of the US save, then save in game if you can or if game autosaves, pick restart at checkpoint then play til next autosave.
