Application ran from XMB to convert 3.56 to run on 3.55?
Application ran from XMB to convert 3.56 to run on 3.55? –
Hi guys, as far as I know right now the only way to make games that require 3.56 to run is to back them up and edit a few files (such as MLB 11). My friend does not really have any idea how to do this himself and was wondering if an application could be developed to be used straight from the PlayStation that would choose a backup and make the necessary edits. I would try to create this myself as it doesn't seem like it would require anything terribly difficult, but I honestly don't know where to start. Thanks.
EDIT: Possibly be built in to a backup manager...?
Most of the backup managers will ask if you want the PARAM.SFO file edited to the current firmware version. I know for sure that MultiMan has this option.
Oh! Ok Thank you.

I wish something could be done to allow the playstation to edit the eboot.bin, my friend has no access to the internet so it is not possible for him to find a pkg file or modified eboot to run his legally obtained game
LOL if he legally obtained the games, all he needs to do is re-rip the games from the original game disc.

There are guides and tools for doing the modifications yourself. Maybe you should print those out / grab a thumbdrive and help a homie out.
He burned mlb 11, but had no way to play it without internet because it required 3.56...
