To anyone who has backed up Race driver grid or just grid onto their internal PS3 HDD, what files do you have in your URSDIR? I want to know because I kind of messed up the names of the files about a month or two back and forgot to fix them and I could really use your help. In my USRDIR folder i have SAVEDATA,video, eboot.bin, and data. The 'data' one is the one im concerned about the most though because i had to spilt the huge file that was in Grid, and i didnt know what to do with it so i read i had to rename them but i never really had to, so im trying to fix them now, and i have successfully rejoined them by renaming them data.66600-data.66615 (because i didn't know what else to call them). So now i have a 15563mb file named 'data'. can anyone just confirm what files they have in the USRDIR for grid. Thanks

You were right to be concerned about 'data'. What you're missing is the file ps3_000.nfs which being 16.32GB in size would have been split into at least 4 other files.

    Hope this helps!

Sorry if this isnt on topic enough, but did you do anything special to get GRID to work at all? I've backed it up on my internal HDD and it just gives me 'error reading disc' with multiman and goes back to the xmb with gaia and rogero. Since you have it working is it patched or anything?

You can only play this game from internal if you've ripped it from original or FTP'ed it to your PS3. Some managers can split/recombine but in my experience it never quite works out perfect. Else you have a bad rip/dump as no patch is necessary.

Well it was ripped from the original, maybe i got a bad dump, i'll just try again cheers for the reply.

    Update
Tried 2 more times ripped to hard drive and still get the same error.

US PS3 Slim 250gb, and an Australian copy of GRID, (probably EUR) with Multiman 15.0.4, Rogero 8.0, and Gaia 2.06..

My searches come up with conflicting reports, some people say it needs to be external, and some say it needs to be internal. Anyone who has it working on their internal did you do anything special?? I havent got a Fat32 external large enough to try... yet.

    Update 2
Figured I would put this here just in case it helped somone in the same boat.

Did some deeper searching and stumbled across the idea to install the Race Driver GRID patch, and it works like a charm now, so if your having the "Error Reading Disc" problem just hit up brewology or use the game updater to update GRID to solve the issue.

So it seems a patch is necessary but not a patched EBOOT just the normal game patch.

You might not be using caps, the url that every update search uses is case sensitive. Or you could have the wrong game ID, or are using a dash in the ID, or some other typo. Sometimes the ID on the box and/or disc won't be what he game actually uses, best bet is to check PS3_DISC.SFB or PARAM.SFO, you should be able to just open either in notepad and see the ID.

The copy I have is BLUS30142, and the update for that is:
    Code:
    http://b0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/tppkg/np/BLUS30142/BLUS30142_T31/3516f82005196917/UP4001-BLUS30142_00-GRIDPTCHSCEA0103-A0102-V0100-PE.pkg
