Anyone try Azergaz's backup manager that boots games right from the app?

Resident Evil 5 :
- Trophies error when played with : Direct-Load / no disc (same as V3 )
- Played fine when loaded from XMB : app_home\PS3_GAME / no disc (same as V2 )

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1
- Loaded and played fine from first try with Direct-Load / No Disc ( I played a complete level to make sure it's working fine, and saved many times without any problem )

Both games tested with Hermes V1 Payload.

If you said the games worked fine with older versions, then u must be using the Direct-Load method (equivalent to V3 ), try returning to XMB and load the game from there for better compatibility ( V2 ).

Hi Rogero, your work is amazing but i have a request: can you toggle the direct load method with for example L3? I think it's better, because you active it just if you want this feature just like the patched mode.

Ah, do you think it's possible to show the game cover (if located in a certain folder of the HDD) on the right with the details of the game (size, location hdd0, USB, etc) # below?

Actually I already wanted the Direct-Load to be used/toggled with L3 but there was no time to implement the changes, well now it's here in V6.1 with other fixes ;)

1- Hermes Patch is now always checked and turned off as default at program startup.

2- Hermes Patch will only work now with Payloads that supports Peek/Poke commands (PSGroove v1.1, Hermes v1.0 ...)
to avoid compatibility problems with the first original Payloads (PsGroove v1.0/PsFreedom).

3- Program version is now displayed on the top right corner of the screen.

4- Direct-Load mode can now be toggled on/off with the "L3" button instead of being used when loading the game.

5- some code clean-up

I tried without direct loading..
Resident Evil 5 loads up without any error
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 now saves.

yeah exactly, well it all started here in this thread with the problem of new versions overwriting older ones and i just wanted to find a solution, now i ended-up with a fully featured Backup Manager instead and I'm having real fun coding C/C++ after many years,this reminds me of the University projects I used to do :)

Anyway mate,feel free to publish the files anywhere you like,they were made to be useful for people who needs them.

Thank You so much Rogero for all your hard work. This program is awesome. I was looking and searching for an updated version of BM which had the default folder as Laun12345 with great functions and finally found it in your program. :)
One question, I'm not sure how difficult/easy it is but, are you going to come up with a way to copy games to Laun12345 in Patch Mode? It seems that this is the only hinderence to making this program close to perfection.

thanks again for 6.1! I do enjoy testing out your versions rogero! So far everything is loading and working for me from disc loading especially since im stuck with a ps3break 1.0 (PIC). :)

Taking in consideration that most of users still have the original PSGroove1.0 being used,I optimized the Hermes fix usage in the program in a way to not interfere and cause compatibility problems, and if you noticed, you Press R3 but nothing changes: Patch Mode won't go on in case of PSGroove1.0.

and in case of a Peek/Poke supported payload,the patch can be on to load a game then it will be turned off at the next program start-up (it caused some problems when left on before)

I test each version with both PsGroove1.0 and PSGroove1.1/Hermes1.0

and lastly don't be upset for being stuck with a non-upgradable PIC with PSGroove1.0, the Disc Loading method is still the most compatible over the other non-Disc methods, also you can still use the Direct-Load method with many games like Ridge Racer7, Soldier of fortune, etc..and they load fine without Disc,the only things you can't use with PSGroove1.0 are the Patch Mode and the loading from app_home\PS3_GAME with no Disc.
