Well the title basically says it all. My jailbroken PS3 has a broken disc laser and I cannot backup my games to its hard drive. I got around 17 backed up back in the days using dongles on my OFW ps3, but now I cannot rip any new games. I have looked a bit for a windows app, but everything comes up dry.

    Help and Information is appreciated.

JSUK my computer has a blu-ray drive.

No, you must use a PS3 to rip games.

No way possible right now as the PS3 actually decrypts the eboot.bin that is the reason the old scene rips don't work as Linux didn't decrypt the eboots. You could rip the games to ISO in Linux if you want but you would have to find a source for the eboot.bin to get it to work. There are tons of threads that people posted the eboots in the modified eboot thread. A lot of work but if you want to do it yourself go ahead. I honestly d/l all the games I own to preserve my laser to the fullest, if it wasn't for EMU's and XviDHD's my 640gb HDD would be near empty as I only have 9 games.

    EDIT

I also have a crap ton of PSN content that is legit as well because when we could still use the DNS trick I bought $200 worth of PSN cards and grabbed everything I wanted as I knew it may be the last time that deck will ever see PSN again.
    PS3 CECH-25001 Rebug 4.41.2 "Lite" 1tb iNt & 2tb eXT mM 4.40.00

Back online thanks to Primee for the legit PSID!!

Ripping games in Linux is useless. The issue isn't eboot decryption but disc protection. An iso made in Linux will never run, regardless of modification, with our current methods of running backups.

So linux can notice their is a disc in the drive? Because windows will just spit out the drive thinking its empty. I guess I'll look into this because torrents aren't my preferred way to get a games especially when all I get is terrible seeders.

I'll say again, ripping PS3 games in Linux will get you nowhere. Ripping games does not decrypt the eboot, it copies the encrypted game files from the disc to a location on your PS3 HDD. You cannot do that in Linux.

i think only the ps3 drive will see the disc. so only ps3 linux would see it. i dont think it would work on a regular pc linux.

but as said before the files are encrypted on the disc and linux wont dump them correctly to be playable.

try to dumb the disc with linux and then use an app called iso2jb or somthing use it and then oogle the eboot or ask in the forum.

this should work if only the eboot needs to be decrypted
