    Hi Guys,

I just bought a new LED 55 TV which is 3D and I saw Crysis 2 has an option to play in 3D...
I was wondering if I could stay on 3.41 (as every "normal" games I got, work on it ...) to play Crysis 2 in 3D
I'm asking the question because I just bought online the 3D glasses and I'm waiting for them. Fun thing is when I setuped the video settings on the ps3 system, it detected my new tv was 3D and asked me to put the size of the LCD.
I don't want to update to 3.55 kmeaw as everything is working fine right now.I know 3D is fully supported on 3.50 and later firmwares ... Maybe its about the movies ?

    Thanks

    I THINK you need 3.50+

Updating to kmeaw 3.55 really doesn't take long at all, and all your games should still work fine without having to do anything more to them, since they work on a lower version already.

I see no reason to avoid updating to be honest. You can always downgrade by using Q&A flagging if you have issues....

Why not just try and see?
The screen should look all flickery if it's working, I'd be surprised if you need the glasses to test it out.

3.50 is for 3D blu-ray movies only. 3D gaming should be supported in 3.41.

3D gaming for the PS3 was introduced in 3.30.

    3D Blu-Ray Movies requires 3.50

3.41 is fine for playing games in 3D

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of your answers
I just checked wikipedia and indeed, as you said ccfman2004, I saw that in the 3.30 ps3 system update from April 22, 2010 : Preparation for 3D support in games.
In fact, the option was grayed out in Crysis 2 so I think its because I did not enable 3D on the TV ... I'll have to check that today.
krytonic, I understand what you says, but you know ... "when it aint broke, dont fix it"
thats why I dont want to update to 3.55 for now as every games (except 3B Bluray movie) work fine.
I'll wait till we get the new key to update my slim

Again Thanks everybody, and I'll let you know if it works

Nope, I bought the tv for its size (55") and almost every models I targeted had 3D so I guess its a bonus.
Considering the price of the 3D blurays ... I'm not in a hurry of upgrading to 3.55
