How to reflash?
How to reflash? –
I received my E3 yesterday and was excited to get started. I found what appeared to be a reliable and easy to follow instruction guide (yes, I'm just a consumer, not a dev) here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQFBPpDxjVw]YouTube - Downgrade PS3 3.50 - E3 Card Reader Review and Tutorial - PSfreedom Psgroove[/ame]
This kind fellow even included the necessary payloads. So I inserted the E3 into my free bsd based macbook and two partitions mounted: "NONAME" and "E3Upgrader." I copied over the .bin file, ejected/unmounted both partitions and removed the drive. I then followed the process, and... no dice.
Now, I figure, try another .bin... but now, when I insert my E3 card reader into my macbook, there's only one volume, which contains one partition titled "KernelBoot."
How do i perform a write to the bootable storage on the E3?
Just a quick word... when I do copy a BIN over into the KernelBoot partition, the key lights solid blue while in the USB drive.
HOWEVER, when I unplug the PS3, insert the E3, boot and hit eject quickly, the E3 blinks red quickly for about 10 seconds, then stops. From what I was looking at, isn't it supposed to solid red, then solid blue when the PS3 is done booting the image?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
For future reference, it seems that I accidentally put the USB device into Bootloader mode, or something....

"So, E3DIY releases a new firmware to walk-around. You can upgrade your E3card Reader follow the instructions listed below:
1. Plug the E3card Reader in your PC USB port and wait for the removable driver E3Upgrader
2. Copy the ResetToKernel.bin to the E3Upgrader, wait until the E3Upgrader disappeared.
3. Wait for a removable driver named Kernelboot, and then copy the "e3fix usb freeze.bin" to this driver.
4: After doing these, you can copy other normal function files such as the one used to downgrading or those used to jail-breaking or the one used to protect your TF card, or other application in the future.
You can download the upgrading package from here."

I tested this and the only partition that I see on OSX is KernelBoot, even after flashing the new bin.
If anyone has any more input, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Try sending a PM to the guy that keeps posting all these new E3 stories. My guess is, he's either a reseller or someone with direct ties to the company. According to Gary though, they speak very broken english, so have your Engrish -> English dictionary handy.
