E3Card is always empty
E3Card is always empty –
Hi guys. Today I downgraded and jailbreaked my PS3 using E3CARD. Everything worked perfectly, but after switching off my PS3 and turning on it again (with AC switch, power button and eject button) E3Card was recognized as 'unknown device'. I plugged it to my PC and there wasn't any *.bin file on E3Upgrader partition. This happens every time I turn off PS3. E3Card is always empty in spite of I dragged *.bin firmware before on E3Upgrader.
Is this normal? I have to drag *.bin file to E3Card every time I turn off my PS3?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Do you take out your E3 card before turning off your PS3?
Nope. I always left E3CARD in USB slot and take out after turning off my PS3. Is this right way?
I've just tried your solution and now it works perfectly. *.bin file is still on the dongle and my PS3 is jailbreaked again.
Just telll me - this (ur solution) is the right way, isn't it?
Generally speaking you can leave your dongle connected. There must be something in the shutdown sequence that's erasing the file on your E3 though. I have an E3, but have yet to take it out of the packaging for any testing. But, if this is the solution, I'd suggest just removing the dongle after your PS3 boots.
Seriously why does it look like the file isn't there lol. I put it on, unplug the dongle and replug it into usb on windows (without doing anything with it). And the file is "gone".
But it isn't really I can still downgrade with it. So odd.
ive noticed this too. it will jb and spoof but the files seem to be gone when you plug into the pc. guess its normal.
god i hope one of the geniuses gets around to a 3.55 hack. i gotta order a rokuHD box now! i used to use the ps3 exclusively for netflix. oh well, its only 70 bucks and a hell of a lot smaller than a ps
I'm pretty sure this is how it's supposed to work. It takes the file you copied onto it, upgrades itself and then deletes the file when it is done.
If you start your PS3 and get the Unknown device messages, that means you did the toggle_ac+power+eject sequence wrong. Even if you think you did it right, try again and you'll see. Sometimes the PS3 is just really picky about the timing.
LOL yes this is normal.
