E3 Card Reader Questions(newbie)
E3 Card Reader Questions(newbie) –
01-04-2011,11:41 AM
Hello, I'm waiting for my E3 Card Reader to arrive. So I have few questions about it.
Does E3 Card support PL3/Hermes 4B with v3.55 Spoof ?
How to put gaia manager on you ps3, do i have to put it on e3 card or on USB?
And, will I be able to play GT5 on my ps3 which would be jailbroken with the E3 Card Reader?
Thank you!

Hi,
I have an E3 Card Reader, and yes it supports that payload, with v3.55 spoof (which is only useful for preventing the console from actually updating to v3.55 which would prevent you from jailbreaking, and does not allow you to play v3.50/v3.55 games or go online).
You can put GAIA manager on your e3 USB (it has a few MB of space) and then install once you're in your PS3.
Yes you can now play GT5; read here:

No.
You put the payload file to E3Upgrader whereas the GAIA manager pkg file goes onto "E3_4M_STICK".
When you plug your E3 into your PC it shows up as three different usb drives.
One is the upgrader drive for your payload, one is for the 4mb of storage for your pkg files such as GAIA and the third is in case you want to put an sd card into your E3 so can be ignored if you don't.
Once you have done this you plug the E3 into your PS3, do the jailbreak sequence (switch on and press eject quickly) then scroll to the 'game' section of the XMB and look for 'install package files', click on this then choose your GAIA pkg to install.
All done.
The official payload for the E3 can be found here.
The official E3 firmware combines both Hermes and PL3 into one simple file.

No problem.
To be honest I'm pretty new to it all myself but I'm more than happy to share what little knowledge I have.

Spoofing payloads I'd never reccomend. Since they're no use anymore just use the bog standard ones for the best compatibility. And for the new eboot.bin's mods for GT and NFS:HP just let your backup manager patch your .SFO

Can you please write some of those standard jailbreaking files, some which are copmatible with E3 Card Reader?

And that means that I don't have to edit my PARAM.SFO from 3.5000 to 3.4100 or I have to?
