    Hi!
I did successfully jailbreak my PS3 with E3 Card Reader.
For some reasons (now I know that it is a common bug) PS3 freezes if I reinsert the device in USB. So I removed it and after plugging it in the devices blinked in red. I plugged it in my PC and it glows in red. I removed the chip from the plastic part and plugged it in and saw that before the red LED starts glowing the blue LED blinks really fast one time.
After a while the red LED isn't glowing anymore, but the USB isn't recognized!
Is there a way to fix this?
Was having so much fun after such a long time without my BD-ROM

The sad thing is that it simply glows red and nothing else happens.
I can't get to any drives.

depending on where you bought it, the unit itself has a warranty, I would talk to who you bought it from and try to get an exchange going (I bought mine from VGA repairs, I trust no one else, even if I could save some money)

I'm also having a similar issue. My E3 arrived the other day. I plugged it into the PC and the 3 devices showed up. I was in the middle of working so I set it aside. A few hours later, I plugged it in again and no drives showed up. I just got a "USB not recogized" from Windows 7. I've tried it on several PC's and the same thing happens. I'm sure it's dead. Unfortunately, I ordered two of them from different companies. I don't know which one this was as the envelope had a lot of asian writing on it, but nothing that identifies it as either of the companies I ordered it from (lightake and ndscardsale) so I don't know who to contact for a return. The other one hasn't arrived yet.

I read that the original ps3jailbreak devices can be reset by soldering a wire between two points to reset it. Is there anything like that for the E3? If not, I guess i just flushed $15.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Can you give me a link to that forum where is written about soldering?
I think boards are very similar, could work even on E3.
Also possibilities to miss the reset circuit isn't that big if there are only 2 wires.
I could exchange my E3 with a new one from volumerates, already asked them and they said I only need to send it back, but the problem is that sending to China from here would cost about 10$... new one costs about 13$ + I need to wait 3+3 weeks get a replacement
Don't know if I will order a new one, I think with all the fuss with public private keys there will be a custom firmware that will allow jailbreak software.
Also I posted a video about this problem on youtube, someone replied and said that he had success in getting the device back to life by putting it in the freezes for 20 minutes, also he said that isn't a joke. Mine didn't repair him self.

I highly doubt you can do the same thing to E3 as to the ps3usbjailbreak though .

I agree, spending $10 and 6 weeks worth of time is a waste. In 6 weeks we'll be JB'ing the PS3 like a Wii. I do have another E3 showing up here soon so hopefully that one will work.

I will try the freezer trick though, can't hurt. It's weird, every now and then I plug in the E3 to see if anything's changed. Once, the 3 devices showed up but I was on a work call. When I finally got a chance to try and copy a file to it, Windows said the device was no longer available. I'm sure it's a bad unit and it's probably toast. Oh well, $15 isn't a bad loss. I've spent more on lunch and I was hungry a few hours later.

Mine died quick. Any file I would write to the 4MB flash or the upgrader drive would disappear instantly. Then eventually both drives disappeared and only now shows a 128KB "Kernelboot" drive. the SD reader doesn't even work.
