SOLVED LOOK AT MY LAST POST

Hi every one it seems that one of my consoles bricked with the E3 card reader while trying to downgrade, after inserting the usb thumb drive(with the decrypted self and patched pup) the power led came stayed solid for 30 seconds then started blinking ... for about 45mins and wasnt reading from the usb at all at this piont , now when I turn the console on the power led turns green for 60 seconds then shuts down

Probably not much I can do so just posting this to let every one know that the downgrade isnt perfect.

PS Was a brand new 320gig slim with 3.50 pre-installed, usb stick worked fine on my other consoles just this one died.

    Here is the log file:

Try the downgrade again using a different flash drive if you have one, sometimes this can make a difference.

Success: redownloaded the 3.50 update from my other connection placed it onto the usb flash drive and it worked 100%, machine is now back to 3.50!!

    Thanks for everyones help.

PS Tried to download it again, and it failed again , so Im moving on and just keeping this one 3.50.

Edit:this machine was a factory 3.50 from sony , is there a chance sony might have added checks to ensure the system is running 3.50?

I just ordered a new P3 phat from a local store and according to their supplier, it would appear that some of the newer consoles that came from the factory with 3.50 cannot be downgraded. They don't have enough data yet to be able to determine which models. Perhaps others with the same problem could chime in with their model number?

Glad you were able to unbrick you new PS3!!!
Just imagine explaining to sony that issue!!
Well I had this on my mind also was planing to ask this question here and you confirmed it unless someone has a way. I recall this has been posted somewhere someone mentioned factory 3.5ver can not be downgraded at least at this time. Again that was posted and have no first hand experience.
People don't buy for logical reasons. They buy for emotional reasons.

You need to have had the firmware you try to downgrade to installed on the PS3 at some point in its existence.

Since the earliest firmware your PS3 ever had installed was probably 3.50, it wasn't able to downgrade in that way at all...

Maybe they can find a way for these machines in the future, but for now it seems they are stuck on 3.50...
This is actually news to me with this thread. I thought it was possible to install any firmware on any PS3 using service mode.
