My guess is that you had hook installed. When in the PSJB app on ti-84 there is an option to install, this makes it so that any usb that tries to enumerate the device will have the exploit automatically sent to it. Your computer is obviously not susceptible to the exploit while at the same time, it will simply not see the calculator while hook is installed. So I have to always remember to press 3 to uninstall the hook, then hook up to the computer, then press 2 to reinstall hook after I am all done. I don't know if this is exactly what happens to you but I hope it helps.
And on a side note, this little key does look cool to have. Every now and then the ti-84's ram will reset (brandon wilson warned of this) and I will have to change all my settings again before using it. A little chip like this seems like it would be very maintenance free.

This chip looks like it could be a rival to the Minimus. Does anyone know if cases will be available at launch?

first thing will say thanks to all of you (dev, gamers, or just curious as me) because i believe, may be a bit naive, than so far we all belong to a same group. Nice feeling to have when you check news and discovers progress on some works and check names under it. And you have a reaction as "amazing he did this" or "she post exactly what i was thinking/working on" or you feel helping someone who just come into the scene or try something usefull/useless.
Of course i believe and know everyone works/ comments hands to hands but it s probably because of theirs ways to react in front of a screen. Sharing same passion through the net, and see finally the scene isn t only a messy place ( at least not in every site) and not only for an certain "elite" (finally just people with big time to spend on it as me) is great and refreshing. I m not saying than the world is becoming better or worst since ps3 is hack, but at least we dont only check sads news in front of a mug.
The way the ps3 hack (as everyone here know) is possible give a opportunity for everyone to come more deeply on this univers and i really appreciate than. It s not just a question of a "simple" usb (dongle) key to plug but also the ports of the code for others devices who make it cool.
On the other hand, i m still sad to see most of the effort/ questions/request are close to only for the games. I was really expecting more divers homebrews as, and may be now i ll try to answer with a constructive answer:
the supports of sub for videos ( the differents method for it, ps3 media servers for example, are still probably complex for majors parts of peoples)
customs xmb ( display of it, fronts, etc...) and/or dynamic themes,
photo/sound/video editors software port project ( even just to read about peoples trying it)
But thanks to somes already famous names who are finally othersperson as me or you, we can enjoy some nice and fun apps.
To conclude even i can still continue for couples of pages and make more peoples skying my post, the ps3 scene is more cheerfull and mature atmosphere than others. Of course i don t forget than there are greedy, selfish, or kiddish around it (and not necessary the first "name" who can have in mind) but majors part of the times credits go where it need to go and that s the most important for major part of us (from a simple but meanningfull thanks you posted on a forum to a front page news on a worldwide web site).
Let s keep and improve it.

the fact that you can flash almost any HEX file made for other boards to this one, make it the best solution for non-experience people. I m really want a GrOOvE AVR . . . . . most have for every body .!!!!!!

This minimus should even more stable than the older releases. I hope i get mine asap. So i can join the homebrew world.
Been waiting for NTFS support, i was wondering if it wouldn't be easier if we use any linux format like EXT1 or 2 instead of ntfs... just a guess.
we're getting better and better, as soon sony refuses to keep PS3 support alive the homebrew comunity is our only hope, and you guys are doing this pretty well.

I'm sure I'm taking myself out of the drawing here, but I'm not sure why this is an attractive solution for $30. I was expecting a lower price, honestly. And also, let's not kid everyone OP... you didn't really "stumble" upon this item, did you? I mean, really... come on now! Heh... you just "happened to find this" on ebay (and right when they started selling it, no less!), and now you want to promote it out of the goodness of your heart? Okay then.

I'm not trying to put this product down, honestly... and many of these boards DO cost more than $30, but then again, Teensy 2.0 boards have been in stock for quite a while now and cost less. I'll at least spare you linking them from this thread. Good luck!
